Is there a way to clear a site of a bad influence? Since the rebirth of ThothWeb I get the feeling that all is not well here.
During the shut-down of the forums I was amazed but not surprised on the number of new members that joined up as I know we hold a load of information in the site resources areas, which would have been the only reason that would have brought them here through that month. I wouldn't like to see that this is the only reason as the forums should also be a major attraction. The blog area is good to express your private thoughts but you should not use them to hold valuable information which could be sourced through the forums.
I agree that things need to be 'tidied up' but if it has come as the detriment of the site we may need to review further 'works'. These are my opinions so maybe I should have expressed them in my blog.

It's been an unfortunate development of the web that forums have become a place for podiums at which people evangelise their "truths" with little or no interaction with the people for whom the message is intended. Fortunately, the weblog was developed, as it's the perfect outlet for that sort of thing, and I encourage everyone to make use of the blogs that have been provided by ThothWeb, and hopefully we can get the forums focussed on talking to one another again.
This thread, by the by, is perfect for the forums, because it's a discussion, and I'd love to hear from more people on the subject.

Thothweb is undergoing treatment for what you stated Kosams, and rebirth is what was needed. Like Mal said to many made a podium out of the sites forums, without any regards of other peoples thoughts. Forums are for discussion groups, some members tried making a blog of the forums. At some point it had to be quelled.
We have blogs and forums for our use , that should cover anything we want to convey. Inewit

Simple answer...Yes, through vigilance. Someone needs to constantly monitor all forum posts. Monitor for what?...you might ask. Things "undesirable"...I would answer. I don't need to make a list...most folks know what Thothweb is about.

The unwell state was so before the re-birth. For reasons described in the previous posts by Mal and Inewit.
The whole concept of discussion should remain just that...discussion. State your point and then move on. Someone may propose a counter-point, at which time heated debate usually ensues. For whatever reason, it seems difficult for some people to accept others opinions, this leads to disdain and the resultant comments that begin to attack individuals...for their opinions. To agree to disagree seems Utopian, but really isn't.
If everyone reads the rules...they boil down to one main thing...Be Nice.
Treat others as you would have them treat you.
Personally...I love the opportunity for intellectual discussion...everyday life just doesn't offer that chance often enough. That's why I'll continue to peruse these pages as long as the golden rule applies.

I understand what your feeling Kosams, have faith.
I also understand that the negative vibe threads were not suitable for TW, so somebody had to do a s**ty job by cutting out the old/tired & useless threads (basic house keeping).
So onward & upward, I'm looking forward to learning more about spirituality & life as we know it....as i feel that is where the site is heading back to. I don't have the intellect as much as some great members to be able to input much, but feel the heart.

I like to think that the change was more one of simply getting back on track. It's not often we have the chance to start anew, without feeling that we are in a strange place. You can either focus on the pain of rebirth, or the beauty of the butterfly upon it's emerging. I prefer the latter. Doc
